I planted her when i was an old garden rose novice, so she was one of my first roses. I naively put her in a prominent spot near the courtyard. I have trouble graveyarding any of my roses because I keep thinking it must be something I’m doing wrong. Lol.

Either way, I really need to move her out into the yard back along the fence somewhere. Maybe she and horridly thorned gangsta’ girl orange and black spotted leaved new dawn can tangle together! I laughed out loud (and I...Dearest Curmudgeon...
I laughed out loud (and I'm in a coffee shop, right now, so the locals are staring at me) when I read line two of the first paragraph. Because I was hastily going to comment off line one: "Seriously?? You're trying to pass yourself off as a non contrarian?" I'm just teasing. And, I want nothing to do with this wimpy rose so we have at least 2 things in common.Kate/High Altitude Gardeninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06690999267357525527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2891478286629018612.post-60762247990970366742011-06-22T11:07:50.791-05:002011-06-22T11:07:50.791-05:00sounds like it needs shovel pruned to me...sounds like it needs shovel pruned to me...greggohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10490422976382424491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2891478286629018612.post-43721388040034957572011-06-22T07:27:16.381-05:002011-06-22T07:27:16.381-05:00We never see that written about Sally Holmes, do w...We never see that written about Sally Holmes, do we Sherry? I think she would have preferred a shadier spot to her full Florida sun location. I rarely saw those tangerine buds and never any blush on her white flowers, but there were plenty of 'old white' flowers with ugly black, burnt-out stamens. This was her 3rd year in that spot, and she was starting to come into her own size-wise which was the kiss of death. Small and ugly is one thing, but big and ugly is another altogether. She met the loppers and left.sherryocalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367991971551038582noreply@blogger.com
