I finally found the latter when I saw one with a bloom and recognized it! I live in hot north Florida and it is the most rewarding rose I have ever grown! It tolerates massive neglect and still flourishes! If only ALL roses were so wonderful to grow!<br />awildroseAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12566949911407736187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2891478286629018612.post-6895513920931368982011-07-07T17:00:25.402-05:002011-07-07T17:00:25.402-05:00Well I'll just have to sign off as Texas Anony...Well I'll just have to sign off as Texas Anonymous, I guess. Loved your posts on Carefree Beauty, as well. I went out of town a couple of days back on the first weekend of April and came home to the most gorgeous display! The next day...30 mile an hour winds blew them all to pieces but I was lucky enough to get pictures the day before. Probably nothing like your Kansas winds but discouraging to say the least! By the way, I'm the "Anonymous" that recently read your book and can totally identify with most of your "musings"...particularly the varmint wars and befuddled daylily identifications! Glad to have stumbled across your blog and found the book! Sincerely, Texas AnonymousAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2891478286629018612.post-71242047260769732542011-07-07T16:08:25.201-05:002011-07-07T16:08:25.201-05:00Sorry Anonymous, I wish I knew another way to get ...Sorry Anonymous, I wish I knew another way to get some dialogue with you as well. I grow Carefree Beauty as well; here she's more hardy than Belinda's Dream. I live in the heart of Texas and am quite familiar with the EarthKind roses and Texas A&M. I grow Belinda's Dream (as well as Katy Road Pink aka Carefree Beauty, another EarthKind rose) and can testify that she's a performer like no other. Mine is at least 6 feet tall now and has spread nearly as wide. I had a family of Northern Cardinals build a nest in her this spring and watched the whole thing from construction of the nest to the baby birds leaving successfully. Belinda's Dream has been an absolute blessing to my garden and I'm looking forward to the fall bloom. With triple digit temps here for the last month, she's not as prolific as in April and May, but will be again in October. Sorry I have to post as Anonymous...I don't understand the whole URL thing at all! Gardening I understand...computers not so much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2891478286629018612.post-62343432385822874352011-07-07T13:15:20.731-05:002011-07-07T13:15:20.731-05:00Great post!
