I hope you find a solution. Maybe replacing the center bushes with the new winter hardy ones would do the trick. Or a stone wall might be nice.sherryocalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367991971551038582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2891478286629018612.post-81431023464860680032011-03-18T14:24:25.249-05:002011-03-18T14:24:25.249-05:00I've had real good luck with a cross of two va...I've had real good luck with a cross of two varieties, Buxus "Green Velvet". In your situation it would take twice as long for this variety to reach that size however. My experience pruning boxwoods at that size back has not been successful. But what choice do you have? Would that be Murph's law?greggohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10490422976382424491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2891478286629018612.post-74610934029920440272011-03-18T08:33:45.885-05:002011-03-18T08:33:45.885-05:00Unfortunately, Yaupon Hollies don't do very we...Unfortunately, Yaupon Hollies don't do very well here to my knowledge. They're rated to Zone 7 and I don't know of any growing in this area. I do like some of the Ilex meserveae hybrids and grow several as "foundation" plants on the north side of the house.ProfessorRoushhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17827625019371233145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2891478286629018612.post-79028014718667795632011-03-18T07:52:21.549-05:002011-03-18T07:52:21.549-05:00How do Dwarf Yaupon Hollies do in your area? Even as far south as DFW, they end up looking just like yours do in a cold winter. And I'm with you on spraying the anti-desiccants -- too much trouble.Toni - Signature Gardenshttp://signaturegardens.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
